Stacey Schabel Named Global Board Chair of The Institute of Internal Auditors

Schabel brings over 25 years of experience to the role, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Operational Risk at RGA Reinsurance Company. Her background includes a tenure as Chief Audit Executive for Jackson Financial and significant contributions to the Prudential plc internal audit leadership team. Within The IIA, she has previously chaired the Audit Committee and served on the North American Board of Directors.

Her term will center on the platform "Risk Focused. Future Ready.," which prioritizes the integration of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity into audit practices. Schabel intends to bridge the gap between traditional audit functions and modern strategic risk management. The IIA also announced that Dr. Hussam Alangari will serve as Senior Vice Chair for the upcoming term, with plans to transition into the Chair role for 2027-2028, succeeding outgoing chair Stefano Comotti.
