The Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA) officially launched its Hong Kong Pavilion at the International Animation Film Market (Mifa) on June 23, marking the third iteration of its Future Animation scheme. Supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, the initiative provides a platform for local talent to demonstrate how machine learning can enhance traditional production techniques. The participating studios, including eMotionLAB and Taproot Studio, presented original projects ranging from 'REFRAME' to 'Odium ZERO' to an audience of international investors and industry professionals.

Beyond the exhibition stand at C.51, the delegation participated in partner pitches at the Impérial Palace, seeking to secure overseas collaborations and funding. This effort represents a strategic push by the Hong Kong government to modernize its creative industries, blending local cultural narratives with automated tools to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving global animation market.
