Chris Shellberg to Lead Low-Voltage Distribution at CMS Energy

After three decades within the company, Chris Shellberg steps into the role of vice president of low-voltage electric distribution at CMS Energy, effective July 1. She takes charge of the infrastructure delivering power to nearly 2 million homes and businesses across Michigan through the firm’s primary subsidiary, Consumers Energy.

Shellberg moves into this executive position from her previous role as senior executive director of low-voltage distribution operations. Her career at the utility spans 30 years, encompassing roles in fleet management, facilities, meter operations, and various service support departments. Greg Salisbury, senior vice president of electric distribution, cited her extensive background in smart grid technology and contract negotiations as central to the appointment.

A graduate of Western Michigan University with a degree in electrical and electronics engineering, Shellberg will oversee the reliability and safety of the low-voltage grid. Her mandate focuses on maintaining continuous service for the company's vast customer base while managing the technical and financial complexities of the distribution network.
