The festivities span both the UNESCO-listed bay and the capital city of Ha Noi, bolstered by partnerships with VTV and Vingroup. Jean-Paul de la Fuente, director of the Zurich-based organization New7Wonders, is currently in the country to oversee the proceedings and reinforce the group's ties to the region. This annual initiative, launched in 2017, falls on July 7 to encourage a global rediscovery of shared natural and cultural heritage.

Founder Bernard Weber described the day as an invitation to celebrate sites that unite humanity through history and inspiration. According to de la Fuente, the "Wonder Effect" generated by such recognition creates measurable socio-economic opportunities for local communities. By showcasing the bay to a global audience, organizers aim to demonstrate how the preservation of extraordinary landscapes can translate into long-term benefits for the Vietnamese people.
