CU SoCal Launches Back-to-School Financial Literacy Drive

To incentivize early financial literacy, Credit Union of Southern California is offering new youth members a $25 bonus deposit and an In-N-Out gift card. The promotion, running through August 31, 2026, aims to encourage saving habits among residents aged 17 and younger before the new academic year begins.

Parents and legal guardians must visit a branch in person to open these accounts, which also provide an automatic entry into a sweepstakes for one of three $500 gift cards to Target or Walmart. The initiative serves as a gateway to the broader CU F.L.Y. financial literacy program, which teaches young people how to manage earnings and build a stable economic foundation.

President and CEO Dave Gunderson stated that the campaign is intended to foster long-term financial confidence rather than simple account growth. Based in Anaheim Hills, the credit union currently manages over $4 billion in assets and serves approximately 187,000 members. Interested families can schedule appointments through the organization's website to finalize the membership process.
