OTR Therapeutics and LG Chem Forge Oncology Development Partnership

OTR will utilize its regional scientific network to identify promising candidates, handling initial technical assessments and preclinical work within the Chinese research environment. Once candidates are selected, LG Chem will assume primary responsibility for ex-China clinical development, regulatory navigation, and commercial distribution. This division of labor is designed to leverage China’s cost-efficient R&D model while scaling successful programs for a worldwide market.

Under the agreement, OTR receives upfront payments and is eligible for additional financial milestones tied to regulatory progress. The contract also grants OTR the option to co-invest in late-stage development in exchange for a share of global commercial rights. Dr. Son Ji-woong, President of LG Chem Life Sciences, noted that the deal allows the company to systematically tap into China's growing biopharmaceutical innovation sector, while OTR founder Dr. Zhui Chen emphasized that the collaboration provides an accelerated pathway to transform early breakthroughs into clinically impactful treatments for patients.
