Ben J. Hinson Named President of FaverGray
After two decades of steady internal ascent, Ben J. Hinson has been appointed President of Jacksonville Beach-based general contractor FaverGray. Hinson, who previously served as Executive Vice President, steps into the new role as the firm continues to expand its footprint in multifamily and student housing construction across the Southeast.

Hinson’s career at the firm began in the role of project manager, eventually leading him through positions as senior project manager and division leader. Since 2019, he has served as Executive Vice President, overseeing operations that have contributed to more than $3 billion in contracted revenue and the delivery of over 20,000 residential units and 32,000 student beds. In his new capacity, he will manage corporate strategy, budgeting, risk oversight, and large-scale program development.
The promotion marks a leadership shift at the 21-year-old company. James A. Gray will maintain his position as CEO, while co-founder W. Keith Faver transitions to Chairman of the Board. Hinson’s elevation is framed by the company as a continuation of its long-standing policy of internal promotion and a commitment to the firm’s original boutique culture, even as it has grown into a nationally recognized builder.
