Disney’s Cotino Waterfront Expansion Adds Six New Retail Tenants

A new wave of dining and retail concepts is set to anchor the Cotino Bay town center in Rancho Mirage, as Disney’s residential community prepares for a spring 2027 opening. The development aims to transform the waterfront space into a social hub, blending local Coachella Valley favorites with established regional brands.

The expansion introduces a diverse mix of commercial tenants to the site, which sits along a man-made lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons technology. Among the new additions is Asada Cantina + Kitchen, a sit-down restaurant bringing Mexican-inspired dishes to the development. Joining the lineup is the Mojave Flea Trading Post, an experiential retail space that will showcase vintage apparel, handmade ceramics, and art from regional creators.

Culinary options will also include SottoSopra, an Italian concept from the team behind SottoVoce Cafe, and Big Juice, a local staple for cold-pressed beverages and healthy meals. Rounding out the new retail roster are It Refills, a sustainable goods shop, and La Dolce Piccola Gelateria. These businesses will operate alongside previously announced tenants such as Elevare and Artigiano to create a walkable, open-air marketplace for residents and visitors.

Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Storyliving by Disney, noted that the selection reflects the character of the Coachella Valley. While the town center will be open to the public, access to the bay itself will be managed through separate, ticketed admission. The development serves as the commercial heart of the larger Cotino residential project, where home prices currently start in the mid-millions.
