Wyoming Shifts Frontier Stable Token Infrastructure to Chainlink CCIP
The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has officially transitioned its Frontier Stable Token (FRNT) to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol. Following a rigorous security review, the state-run issuer deprecated its previous integration with LayerZero, opting instead for a multi-year partnership to secure its sovereign digital asset across multiple blockchain networks.

The decision marks a significant pivot for the first fiat-backed, state-issued stable token in the United States. Executive Director Anthony Apollo cited the necessity of maintaining robust operational integrity for public-sector financial infrastructure as the primary driver for the change. By moving to Chainlink CCIP, the Commission gains access to a defense-in-depth security model that includes SOC 2 Type 2 certification and redundant validation from 16 independent node operators.
FRNT currently operates across eight major blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and Arbitrum. The migration aligns with the state’s long-standing mandate to maintain a technology-neutral, multi-chain approach to its digital assets. Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink, noted that the move reflects a growing trend among government entities requiring institutional-grade standards to move assets at scale. As Wyoming continues to utilize FRNT to support its School Foundation Program, this infrastructure upgrade aims to provide a secure framework for future state-level blockchain initiatives.
