Under the terms of Resolution No. 073, 2026, issued on August 19, the group secured frequency bands in the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz, and 3.6 GHz ranges. Viettel Global, the international investment arm of the Hanoi-based firm, must finalize a formal concession agreement within 90 days. The company is currently establishing a local corporate entity to oversee the deployment of its digital services ecosystem.

Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and CEO of Viettel Group, stated that the firm intends to pursue a long-term investment strategy focused on expanding connectivity to underserved and remote regions. This move follows a period of robust growth for the group, which saw its international operations generate USD 3.34 billion in revenue during 2025—a 23.9 percent increase from the previous year. Viettel currently operates in ten other markets across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, holding the top subscriber position in seven of those territories.
