The appointment marks a strategic shift for the Mountain View-based company, which serves over 40 million monthly active users. Zylberstein is tasked with scaling two new business lines: Nearby AI, an agentic marketplace designed to connect consumers with local services, and NDot AI, a media technology platform providing publishers with tools for audience growth, monetization, and content personalization.

Dr. Jeff Zheng, founder and CEO, emphasized that Zylberstein’s background in high-growth technology environments is critical for building infrastructure that supports both media publishers and local business ecosystems. Zylberstein joins the leadership team following six years at ByteDance, where he oversaw AI partnerships and the initial rollout of TikTok Shop. His earlier career includes significant operational roles at Pinterest, where he helped manage the company’s IPO, and YouTube, where he contributed to the development of YouTube Premium and YouTube TV.

Zylberstein brings a background in finance and strategy, having begun his career in investment banking at JPMorgan and consulting at McKinsey & Company. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and degrees from Sciences Po Paris and Sorbonne University. As NewsBreak integrates its decade of experience in local personalization into these new B2B channels, Zylberstein will focus on converting the company's proprietary data and AI capabilities into sustainable, scaled revenue streams.
