Tanzanian Tourism Operator Commissions SafariOS AI Concierge

Tanzanian tourism entrepreneur Ernest Magesa has commissioned Skye Africa Intelligence to develop SafariOS, a conversational AI platform designed to streamline the visitor experience. Built using Brand Engagement Network technology, the system aims to automate hotel operations and guest services ahead of the 2027 AFCON PAMOJA tournament.

The project serves as a practical testing ground for integrating governed artificial intelligence into the local hospitality sector. By focusing initially on hotel-specific requests—such as housekeeping, dining recommendations, and transport logistics—the platform seeks to reduce the friction often faced by international travelers. The goal is to establish a reliable digital assistant that provides localized knowledge before expanding to encompass broader excursions and travel planning.

Market timing is a critical factor for the rollout. With Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda set to co-host the AFCON PAMOJA 2027 tournament from June 19 to July 17, the region expects a significant surge in demand. However, Magesa emphasized that the business case extends beyond the event, prioritizing year-round utility. Skye Africa Intelligence, which is majority-held by Valio Technologies with Brand Engagement Network as a minority shareholder, intends to scale the service by onboarding participating businesses across the visitor journey. Tyler Luck, CEO of Brand Engagement Network, noted that the partnership leverages Skye's regional expertise combined with BEN’s proprietary engagement language models to ensure secure, compliant interactions.
