Knowtion Health Taps Ghamut for AI-Powered Revenue Recovery
Boca Raton-based Knowtion Health is integrating artificial intelligence into its revenue cycle management process through a new partnership with Ghamut Corporation. The collaboration aims to move beyond basic automation, using machine learning to assist specialists in navigating complex, non-repeatable medical claims and boosting payment recovery rates for health systems.
The initiative focuses on the appeals process, where staff must reconcile lengthy medical records, shifting payer policies, and strict regulatory requirements. By deploying AI to synthesize this data, Knowtion intends to provide its specialists with the context needed to build stronger, more successful payment arguments. Mikky Franklin, chief delivery officer at Knowtion, noted that the technology is designed to surface information that allows human experts to make faster, better-informed decisions.
Ghamut, founded by MIT and Boston Consulting Group alumni, brings technical experience from over $250 million in AI projects. Mohammad Ghassemi, a founding partner at Ghamut, stated that the firm’s role is to translate Knowtion’s years of claims data into practical tools without removing human judgment from the workflow. Internal testing indicates that the AI-supported approach substantially improves recovery outcomes, prompting the company to expand these capabilities into other areas of revenue cycle management. Knowtion currently manages billions in accounts for more than 660 hospitals nationwide.
