Subaru Cuts 2027 Impreza Pricing to Retain AWD Market Lead
Subaru of America is slashing the entry price of its 2027 Impreza hatchback by $2,000, bringing the base MSRP down to $24,595. This aggressive pricing strategy positions the Japanese automaker’s compact model as the most affordable all-wheel-drive vehicle currently available on the U.S. market.
The refreshed lineup, slated to reach retailers in late 2026, centers on a 180-horsepower, 2.5-liter Boxer engine paired with a Lineartronic CVT. By streamlining the trim levels to just the base and the high-performance RS, Subaru aims to capture budget-conscious buyers without sacrificing the brand's signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Both models include paddle shifters and dual-mode SI-Drive settings as standard equipment.
Inside, the base model features a dual 7.0-inch touchscreen interface, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and the latest iteration of the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. For those seeking a premium experience, the RS trim maintains its $29,495 price point from the previous year. It upgrades the interior with an 11.6-inch multimedia display, wireless smartphone integration, and an all-weather package that includes heated front seats and blind-spot detection. Optional add-ons, such as a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and a power moonroof, remain available for the RS variant at an additional cost of $2,070.
