LALA U.S. Expands Cheese Portfolio to Capture Growing Hispanic Market
Dallas-based LALA U.S., Inc. has aggressively scaled its American cheese operations, ballooning its portfolio from three products to 14 in less than a year. The expansion targets a $1.1 billion Hispanic cheese category that is currently outperforming the broader mainstream market with an 11% four-year compound annual growth rate.

The company’s growth strategy focuses on balancing traditional staples like Queso Fresco, Oaxaca, and Panela with modern convenience formats. By introducing smaller 5-ounce portions, shaker bottles for Cotija, and resealable bags of Oaxaca Bites, LALA aims to lower the barrier for new consumers while streamlining preparation for established households. The rollout is supported by a new creative campaign, "¡Ya Quedó!," which emphasizes the role of these cheeses as essential finishing touches for everyday meals.
According to Flavia Panza, Chief Marketing Officer at LALA U.S., the move represents a shift toward a comprehensive category presence rather than simple line extensions. The company is leveraging its deep heritage in Mexico—where it maintains the top-ranked milk brand—to provide authenticity while using redesigned, visual-heavy packaging to educate shoppers on versatile applications like grilling Panela or using Cotija in grain bowls. These products are now available at select retailers nationwide, with pricing starting at $1.99 for entry-level Queso Fresco.
