Linda B. Gefen Compiles Nine Years of Political Commentary
When Donald Trump descended the golden escalator in 2015, Linda B. Gefen reached for her pen. Her new book, "Letters to the Editors…: I Really Did Try!," gathers nearly a decade of opinion pieces and private reflections, chronicling a volatile era of American politics from a consistent center-left perspective.
The collection traces the trajectory of the Trump era, covering events ranging from the initial 2015 campaign announcement and the pandemic to the January 6 insurrection and the subsequent 2024 political landscape. Gefen, a former retail business owner and Hofstra University graduate, crafted these entries in real-time as responses to breaking news cycles, with many pieces appearing in major national outlets like USA Today.
More than a political memoir, the book functions as a chronological archive of civic frustration and engagement. Gefen frames the work as an ongoing dialogue, emphasizing the necessity of individual participation in the national discourse. The book is available in softcover, hardcover, and electronic formats through Archway Publishing, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
