Emory Healthcare Transitions Imaging Infrastructure to Sectra Cloud

Emory Healthcare has finalized a complete transition to Sectra One Cloud, marking the first major U.S.-based migration for the Swedish cybersecurity firm. The shift moves the Georgia-based health system’s enterprise imaging IT from local, on-premises servers to a fully managed, scalable cloud environment designed to bolster long-term operational security.

The migration covers a massive network comprising 11 hospitals, the Emory Clinic, and more than 250 provider locations across Georgia. By offloading infrastructure maintenance and system upgrades to Sectra, Emory aims to reduce the burden on its internal IT teams while maintaining high availability for medical staff. The health system, which has partnered with Sectra since 2021, now manages an average volume of over 1.3 million imaging examinations annually through the new platform.

Isaac Zaworski, President of Sectra Inc., noted that the move establishes a new benchmark for regional patient care standards. The five-year contract, secured during Sectra’s 2024/2025 fiscal year, centers on a modular VNA-based solution. This architecture allows the health system to consolidate its imaging strategy, providing the flexibility to expand diagnostic capabilities across different medical specialties without the overhead of managing hardware updates manually.
