The transformation project will rely on two primary technological pillars: Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt. By deploying the Topaz Fabric—an agentic services suite—Valmet intends to embed intelligence directly into its IT workflows. This human-in-the-loop framework is designed to improve governance and accuracy while accelerating issue resolution across the company's global operations. Simultaneously, the company will utilize Cobalt to build a scalable, secure cloud foundation, shifting toward an operating model that prioritizes business agility and operational resilience.

Arto Huuskonen, Valmet’s VP of IT Transformation, noted that the move is essential for building a future-ready digital foundation. For Infosys, the engagement serves as a significant expansion of its manufacturing footprint. Jasmeet Singh, executive vice president at Infosys, stated that the collaboration is intended to unlock value at scale by leveraging AI-first ecosystems. Valmet, which reported net sales of approximately EUR 5.2 billion in 2025, expects this modernization to reduce costs and optimize resources, ultimately strengthening its position as a global leader in process industry technology.
