Francis Creighton, CEO of the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, emphasized that the current period of market volatility demands a unified approach to public policy and resource management. Central to the legislative agenda is the Beverage Regulatory Parity Act, a proposed measure intended to bring the unregulated intoxicating hemp sector under consistent federal control.

SipSource analyst Danny Brager reported that while core categories like wine, beer, and spirits remain in a period of decline, the data indicates a phase of stabilization. Consumers are increasingly favoring smaller formats, and on-premise sales continue to outpace off-premise channels. These shifts have tightened competition for shelf space, with distribution points falling by three to five percent over the past two years. To navigate this, experts like Brooks Hamilton of AI Strategy Advisors urged firms to move beyond industry hype, focusing instead on AI applications that improve organizational visibility and internal efficiency.

The event also marked a leadership transition, with Michael Hertz of United Distributors set to chair the board for 2027. Sazerac Company Executive Chairman Mark Brown concluded the forum by addressing the broader narrative surrounding the industry, urging stakeholders to counter neo-prohibitionist pressures by better articulating the value of a well-regulated marketplace.
